About This Car
In 1987, if you wanted the fastest production car in America, you checked RPO B2K on your Corvette order form. The Callaway Twin-Turbo package was a factory-authorized option available through any Chevrolet dealer — your new Corvette was shipped directly from Bowling Green to Callaway's facility in Connecticut for the twin-turbo conversion.
Twin IHI turbochargers fed the 5.7-liter V8, producing a factory-rated 345 horsepower — conservative by any measure. These cars were the fastest production vehicles in America in 1987, and they embarrassed European exotics costing three times as much.
This example wears a rare blue-on-blue combination and retains all its original Callaway documentation. Only about 188 Callaway Twin-Turbos were built for 1987, making this a genuinely rare piece of American performance history.
